"Therapy, also called psychotherapy or counseling, is the process of meeting with a therapist to resolve problematic behaviors, beliefs, feelings, relationship issues, and/or somatic responses (sensations in the body)" (source www.goodtherapy.org). Counselors and therapists diagnose and treat mental illness and mental health disorders. They can bill insurance. 

As your coach, we help you focus on the present and the goals you wish to achieve. Together, we clarify your goals and create a path forward together. We provide mentorship, accountability, and can link you with helpful community resources. We do not diagnose or treat mental health disorders, provide treatment, or bill insurance.  

Journey Coaching & Consulting provides mentoring and coaching in the areas of parenting, grief, life, personal development, small business, and more (just ask if we cover what you need!).  We have individual and group coaching sessions available. Lisa also offers business consulting for Pregnancy Resource Centers and adoption agencies.

Coaching is not a professionally licensed business practice in North Carolina. However, our Personal Development Coach, Lisa Holland, holds a Master of Arts degree in Human Services Counseling: Marriage & Family; parent, grief, and life coaching certificates from Light University; is currently working on a Mental Health Coaching certificate from Light University; and will complete a Doctor of Education degree in Community Care & Counseling: Traumatology in 2023. She also has experience as a Birthmother Caseworker and has authored several workbooks.
